Sip and Stroll, November 4, 2011
WineFest January 19, 2012
Those that joined us last time had fun, fellowship, great food
and, of course, fine wine.

Wine is best enjoyed using other senses besides taste. First, look at the color of the wine, as wines come in a multitude of eye pleasing colors. White wines range from light straw to deep gold. Reds, from light ruby to deep purple. Next, smell. All wines have distinctive aromas or "nose." Then, sip. You should have three taste sensations. In the front, you will taste the essence of the wine: fruity, citrus and "jammy". In the middle of the mouth, you should feel the wine unfold, giving more subtle flavors. In the back of the mouth, the finish: sweetness, crispness or dryness. Most of all wines are best with food, so try a sip or two with bread, cheese or fruit to see the real character of the wine. And most importantly, ENJOY!
